What a difference the stained glass project made to the feel of this bathroom!

Stained glass is a wonderful way of creating atmosphere using light. For this project, featured in my video, I created a stained glass effect on the plain glass panels of a bathroom door.

The stained glass makes for a colourful feature in itself, but with the right lighting it can create a brilliant splash of colour.

I think the most important aspect of this project is the finish of the colour paint on the glass surface.

Be sure to follow the method used in my video, and stipple the surface while still wet with a clean and dry paint brush. This tends to break up and smooth out any paint runs or blobs giving the colours a nice diffuse appearance.

Remember to clean your brush before stippling another colour!

To get the right appearance for the lead frame, use a fairly thick adhesive lead strip.

This is prefereable to the very thin type found in some art and craft stores which is more suited to decorating smaller glass objects.

The type I used in the video is made by a company called Rega, and can be found in many large DIY stores in the U.K.
